their website tells you that it is a premier zoo...a premier park with a few animals tucked in there would be more appropriate...a beautiful park it would be...to me a zoo means animals...many many animals...they need to purchase more animals...and do not go on donation/aka free day...just don't...even if it is the only sunny dry day of the week...at times when the little people moving train was on the go it kind of felt like what a crowded bazaar street in india would be like...loved the architecture of the old zoo buildings...the gorillas and camels were delightful...more animals would be even more delightful...animals in a natural habitat would be the best...
first i need to start with the mother of the bride sharing a tidbit of marital preparation information with the groom...slight shock for the briefest of seconds...and then he started to chuckle...so happy to have this captured on film...i still think this will make such a fun piece of wedding lore to pass down to their children and grandchildren..."once upon a time"...today i am less emotional looking at the photos...although the ones with chelsey in her dress with alex at her side really really really tug at my heartstrings...don't you wish you could bottle the happiness...and catching lindsey working her magic still turns me into one mushy mama...fun bits and pieces...enjoy...(tribe...i can't wait to see you...drive safely...love you)...
must add these cousins...two of the sweetest littlest girls who loved sadie "almost" as much as Lindsey did...(wink)...
happiness just isn't a big enough word...mix together a gorgeous bride and a handsome groom...two sets of the most wonderful parents...delightful bridesmaids and groomsmen...many many many loving friends and family...and you have chelsey and alex's wedding...grab a tissue or two (seriously...it's really hard to post process photos when your eyes are full of happy tears...clenching so isn't working for me today...maybe my shoes were just too tight...wink wink wink) and enjoy a few of the special moments i captured on saturday june 14th 2008...i haven't looked at all the photos yet...these are just some that caught my eye...(this event was double the happiness for me as i was able to watch debbie's little girl say her vows to the man she loves AND i got to watch my little girl follow her bliss...her passion...and work her magic...tears tears and just a few more tears...all happy ones...something totally primal about watching your children and your friend's children go forth and conquer happiness in the world...Lindsey i will happily carry your equipment and walk behind you anytime...love you!)
thats all...(for now...so many more to come)
an amazing time was had by all...
amazing really isn't a big enough word but in my sleep deprived state it's the best i can give...
i always hope the red eyes will get easier or better or just more comfortable...still hoping...
too tired for words so all you are getting mostly photos...mucho photos...
and we were off on our magical mystery tour...Lindsey behind the wheel...stella chatting on the dash...
and more delightfulness...
some things you just don't see on the streets of boston...
dinner with the celtics on every tv screen in the room...
we will always remember the promenade parking lot...so very funny now...
if you are ever in mission bay...be aware that there are two identical parking lots behind white stucco walls...
and why does every guy ask about the boobs when you say you ate at hooters...
crossed into the busiest border town in the world...too much fun...
hot but not too hot...not crowded...pefect for exploring...
we amused ourselves with all the mirrors in tijuana...
a street filled with food vendors...and every single one was named taco bell...mexican beer and the carne asada quesidillas were delish...
3 tacos for a dollar...
viagra soup...i didn't ask...i really didn't want to know...
more mirror entertainment..i love this one...
watching you work is truly a delight...
i am beyond proud of you...heart burstingly proud...you have found your passion and are following your dreams...high five sweet girl...
p.s. betsy johnson eat your heart out...
is the song now stuck in your head...if so sing along with me...
wonder if she even unpacked...boston to chicago to maui to denver to boston to los angeles in less than one week...working her magic across the globe...
this is the least amount of luggage i have ever taken on any flight...ever...keeping it simple...totally the opposite of my usual packing ways...less to carry will give my healing shoulders a much needed break...
p.s. daylilies please do NOT bloom until i get back...thank you very much...
gather the few blooming fleurs...can't lose them to the approaching high winds and hail and heavy rains...
we had thunder and a little wind...and sprinkles...only sprinkles...how disappointing...just enough to make it even swampier than it already was...just enough to make it hazier than it already was...
the last of the pink peonies...the only blue delphinium that the deer overlooked...lovely...
everything blue is capturing my heart this season...soon the daylilies will start to open and i will have an abundance of orange blooms waving in the breeze...i am sure i will then declare them as my favorite again...i am that fickle...whatever is in bloom is my favorite...and i think my garden is okay with that...
